Then I started to crochet and follow the US patterns, lets just say they didn’t work out. I found the terminology to be very different. There is no single crochet in the UK!
So to make it a little easier, I made myself up conversion table until I got used to the different terms. Then one day I sold a pattern to a lovely german lady who asked if I knew the conversion from US English to German. So I looked up what I could find and let her know the different terminology conversions.
I decided to share my table in this blog. When making this table up I decided to include a couple of other countries. So you will find United Kingdom, United States, Germany, France and Spain in this table.
According to my research these terms appear to be correct. If anyone notices anything incorrect please let me know and I will make the changes.
I hope this helps anyone who is trying to figure out a different crochet terminology.
