Making My Own Baby! Part 1
I love making my crochet newborn photo props, but sometimes I just can't find a newborn to model them for me. I think it just shows off the work so much better when using a model compared to photographing the item flat.
So I looked into the reborn dolls and almost fell off my chair when I saw the prices of them. Although the work that goes into them is amazing, as some look so life like.
Well, with my background in the fine arts I decided I would mold my own model. The only problem is that I have never sculpted before! I have used many other mediums but sculpting wasn't one of them!
It has taken me 3 days but I have finally sculpted my babies head! Check out the photos below.

Here is the start of the babies head. It looks a little like an alien right now!

Shaping the brow and adding a nose. So far so good!

Working on the eyes next. My baby is going to be sleeping!

Now starting to work on the nose and lower half of the face.

It's slowly getting there, but it needs a lot more tweaking.

The eyes have been tweaked and the mouth reworked, it's finally getting there. I still have work to do on the nose, it is too wide in the middle and just too big on top.

The nose has been reworked and now a little more work on the chin and neck area.

I am finally happy with the results. Next is adding some ears and to smooth over as much as I can.
